Mashad rugs

Mashhad carpets are among the finest types of Persian Rugs. Mashad is located in the east of Iran and is the holiest city in the country and it was an inspiration for carpet weavers. Mashad rugs with a central motif, where a medallion in the middle is common and has stylised flowers with two or more borders. Typically Mashad carpets are red and occasionally beige and blue.
